Benefit Show: Wed. August 10th @ Dante's

Nothing like last minute announcements. I really wish I had more info on this one. No know even seems to be sure of the line up of bands nor what time we'll go on. I assume the event starts at 9pm like most rock shows. Well, more like 10 if it is like most rock shows. It will be at Dante's, which is one of the better places to play at and/or see a show at. It's off 350 West Burnside, and SW 3rd for those who don't know. It will be a benefit show as well. Wish I had more info on that as well. So, bring cash if you can swing it. Anyways, hope to see you there. Thanks to those who came out on Friday to The Kenton Club. We all had a blast. One of the best shows I've been a part of all year. Only one more show left after this.

Whats Going on and Changes to Come Part:2

So this is it. As sad as it is for this to be my last show with Salvador, I couldn't have asked for a better bill to be a part of. Mongoloid Village and Rollie Fingers are two bands that I've had the pleasure of knowing, have toured with, collaborated with, and have considered friends of mine for the past few years. This has potential to be the most fun I've had at a show I've played in a while. This is for real. If you haven't seen me play before or would like to see me play again, or just want to see a real kick ass show, then this is probably your last chance. Well, with me involved in the near future. Oh, and Mongoloid Village and Rollie Fingers kind of kick ass in a major way too.

Salvador in Las Vegas

These are dudes who have paid their dues and then some. Yet, do this thing because they love what they do. I can't tell you how many times we've each schlepped our equipment or each others across bars up and down the west coast. Hell, just imagine the one man band carrying his drums, amps, and cabs to each show by himself from out his van. I get the sense that the same old romantic idea of a band on the road, traveling and blowing minds along the way is still alive and well. Especially in heavy music. There's still dudes and gals out there just making great music, not concerned about what others think. Kind of like they're riding a last frontier of sorts of integrity in music. The bands on this bill are no exception either. They are some of the best of the crop here in Portland. I myself, couldn't have asked for better band mates to go through all of this either. I've met a lot of really cool people and saw a lot of the country once again in the last few years together with my band mates. And it was a blast of debauchery the whole way there. I will miss it.

Whats Going on and Changes to Come Part:1

Its been a nice run Portland. So.... There are many things changing for me in the near future. For one, I am playing a few "last shows" of sorts. Music in this town is a hard thing for me to walk away from. This is because the people in the bands I'm walking away from, I really consider family and my brothers. For reasons I can't really get too deeply into on this format at this point, I will be playing my last show with Salvador on Friday, August 5th at the Kenton Club off 2025 N Kilpatrick St., Portland, OR 97217 · Get Directions. This is a band I've been with of 3 years and have put many hours of hard work into. So please come out and support good local music. More on this show later.

In less than 7 days I also have this:
I'm doing another one off show with a band that's been coined, "Shotgunn Holiday". This will only be my second show with these folks and it won't really be the same format most people and myself will be use to. I'll be providing a lot of bass for this gig. This show will take place Thursday, July 21st at LaurelThirst Public House on2958 NE Glisan, Portland, OR 97232 · Get Directions.

Also, this doesn't mean our output will be stalled. This does mean finally some of the material many of us have spend the better part of a year and a half, should be recorded within the next month or two.

This means:
1. A new Salvador album.
2. Some solo tracks if they don't suck.
3. A new Autopilot Dojo track.
4. Maybe a track or two for Shotgunn Holiday.

These are very big aspirations, so hopefully I can fulfill most, if not all of them. This doesn't mean I'm totally done with music. That would be ridiculous. Just starting over and pushing the reset button on my current way of life and making some changes. Who knows. I could end up falling right back into the same place in the future, but for now this is what is happening with me and others around me.

It's Been a Long Time. Coming out of the Fog.

The posters are off the presses. So now the long drawn out silence will finally come to a close. The band and I will finally reveal the songs we've spend collectively a little over a year writing. We'll be debuting it live, Friday the 17th. Now that I've talked it up with that grandiose intro, I'm sure expectations can't possible be met. But, we really haven't done anything out in the public since November, and for me personally, this was the longest lull of not playing out live in about 5 years. So, needless to say, we're itching to get out and destroy some eardrums. Lord Dying is and insane Metal group, that I'm sure will make us all look like chumps, so if nothing else come for that. Norska will add some variety to the evening, and for those who don't know, have a member from YOB in it. So come say "hi". So with that all said, I really hope those of you who have missed shows in the past, can make it out for this night. I'm honestly glad to be alive and lucky enough to still be able to play for people who care, and enjoy what I do. There were many times for the better half of last year when I thought I had lost all the fire to play anymore. Thanks to the encouragement of a few musician friends, I've really come back around and I'm thankful for the opportunities they kept giving me. Hell, I'm thankful for those who have given me a place to stay. I lost quite a few things last year. Including loved ones, relationships, legal battles, and at times myself and my sanity. Some of these things were my fault and some were out of my control. But, the fog lifted and I'm still here, trying to do better and making the most out of the short time myself and all of us have here. I'm lucky to have the people in my life I do and am thankful for their patience. So, come out and say hi this night, and lets celebrate.

I know there's been a long period of inactivity. Truth is, I've been trying to rebuild a lot of things I destroyed throughout the coarse of last year. This will be the first show I've played in public in about 7 months. Just a small little number at Biddy McGraw's off NE Glisan St., May 30th from 6-8pm. I get to play Bass for a few songs, so this will be different.
